Dewsbury's cinema, the New Picture House, is screening
The Big Sick on Friday 24th November 2017 at 7.30pm. The Big Sick is a 2017 American romantic comedy loosely based on true story about a Pakistani comic (Kumail) who meets an American graduate student, Emily, at one of his stand-up shows. As their relationship blossoms, he soon becomes worried about what his traditional Muslim parents will think of her. When she suddenly comes down with an illness that leaves her in a coma, he finds himself developing a bond with her deeply concerned mother and father. The film has achieved critical acclaim and become one of the highest-grossing independent films of 2017.
Tickets now available to book online on our website –www.newpicturehouse.com and some also available on the door on a first come first served basis. Price is just £5 for adults, £4 for concessions (including unwaged) and £3 under 16s (15 certificate).
Doors open 6.45pm (45 minutes before screening). Running time is 1h 57m. We have a 15-20 minute interval during the film where we serve a vegetarian curry which you can pre-order ready for the interval. Snacks, hot / cold drinks and homemade cake are also available before / after screening and during the interval, and we also have a fully licensed bar.

Although we cannot offer private car parking (and Heron Foods does not offer parking for the cinema) , on-street parking in the town centre is typically free of charge after 6pm.
