Glass-On-Glass Mosaic Workshop

Day 1: Saturday 22 March 2025, 10am to 5pm
Day 2: Sunday 23 March 2025, 10am to 12pm

This workshop offers a fun and engaging experience where you'll learn to create stunning glass-on-glass mosaics. Using vibrant stained glass, you'll design and craft a framed mosaic, perfect for displaying on a sunny windowsill. Stained glass is a captivating material, and mosaics let you blend a variety of colors, hues, and textures into a single piece. You can choose from a range of our designs and the mosaic-making process allows you to add your own creative touch through colour choices and glass arrangement.

We have lots of designs for you to choose from. You will select a design, and some of our beautiful glass to create your own finished piece.

The workshop takes place over two days. On Saturday, we will first learn all the techniques required to make a beautiful gallery-worthy mosaic. You will spend the rest of the day putting those techniques into action by creating your own mosaic. We have a vast selection of beautiful glass for you to choose from as well as some other elements you can incorporate such as glass nuggets and beads. You can select one of our specially created designs or design one yourself using our bespoke template (this is so it will fit in the frame that we supply). The glue dries overnight and you will return the next morning to finish your piece with grout, a good polish and framing.

The workshop is suitable for beginners and all necessary tools, safety equipment and materials are provided.

The workshop takes place in our dedicated Project Space at the picturesque Parndon Mill, a surprising little countryside oasis just 15 minutes walk from Harlow Station. Harlow, Essex. Regular trains to Harlow leave from Liverpool Street Station in Central London. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available and I will of course bring some biscuits for us all!

NB: as this is my very first mosaic workshop (though I’ve run many other glass workshops!), I’ve carefully designed projects that should be achievable within the time frame. However, working speeds may vary, so we may finish slightly earlier or later than planned. Please allow for some flexibility with the schedule.
