Margaret Morris Movement International Summer School 30 July to 6 August 2011
Margaret Morris Movement was founded in 1910 by Margaret Morris, age 19. Margaret developed her own unique system of dance and movement which she called Margaret Morris Movement (MMM). She opened her first school in 1910 to train dancers in MMM for the theatre. From this one-room school in London she developed MMM into a worldwide organisation.
Margaret Morris had a truly creative energy and the ability to inspire. From her first performance in France at the age of three until the end of her life in Glasgow in 1980 her remarkable life story is told through the extensive collection she left behind. Among it are many dance costumes she designed, thousands of sample artwork, photographs, letters, programmes, diaries and numerous other items.
An Exhibition of Margaret's work will be available to view at The University of Chichester, PO19 6PE during our International Summer School 30 July to 6 August. Why not join us for a fabulous week of dance and movement. There is something for everyone, classes in MMM system of work, creative dance, dance technique, art, a chance to perform at the end of the week.
