Metaphor
The Evelyn Borelli Garden of rest lies between the University for the Creative Arts on one side and the historic town of Farnham on the other. This site specific installation seeks to link the two, evoking the silver-smithing tradition of the Borelli Family and the creative energies of the institute's inhabitants. Five galvanized steel discs, etched with the immortal words of C.S. Lewis, bring his tale 'The Magician's Nephew' to life. The sculpture garden effectively becomes 'The Wood Between the Worlds', where every pool leads to a new and different world, in parallel to the students graduating the university.
