A Room of One's Own? I Wish!
Join Kirklees Libraries' Writer-in-Residence, Christina Longden for an exploration of the strong female writers and characters of her favourite novels. Christina will address the physical, emotional and psychological challenges facing women who engage in writing from working-class backgrounds, by reflecting on her own experiences.
Thursday 21 January at 11.00
Free to attend, live on Kirklees Libraries Facebook and YouTube.
Before she settled in Kirklees, Christina lived and collaborated with the Kalahari Bushmen in Namibia, the collaboration resulted in two non-fiction books. Christina has also written two dark comedy dramas set in Kirklees (her books will appeal to all Sally Wainwright fans) and continues her interest in comedy and humour at her funnylass.com blog. Christina’s mission is to get more people using our libraries, more often. You can find out more about Christina and her work at www.funnylass.com and www.robertreschidstanley.wordpress.com.
