Opera North is England’s national opera company in the North and one of Europe’s leading arts organisations. In Harmony is a national initiative that aims to inspire and transform the lives of children, their families and wider communities through school and community-based orchestral music-making. In Harmony Opera North has been running since 2013 in south Leeds and currently works in 5 primary schools and 1 secondary school with over 1,800 children and young people each week.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, well-motivated choral specialist to lead on the delivery of a year-round programme of high quality and engaging choral tuition within Opera North’s celebrated In Harmony programme. The appointed Choral Leader will deliver choral sessions for pupils from years 1 to 6, alongside developing the choral curriculum in collaboration with our instrumental team.

The successful candidate will have a solid classical music training and be able to demonstrate experience of working professionally delivering engaging and high-quality group vocal work with children and young people. This post is subject to satisfactory DBS clearance and the ability to work across locations.

Salary: £28,912 per annum

Contract type: Permanent Full-Time.
