Katherine Roberts Award winning children's author

Katherine was born in Torquay and grew up in Devon and Cornwall. A former student of Torquay Girls' Grammar School, she started her working life as a mathematician after taking first class honours from Bath University. She then worked in horse racing for many years, before returning to her first love... writing stories!

Her first novel "Song Quest" won the inaugural Branford Boase Award in 2000. Her other books for children include the Seven Fabulous Wonders series and the critically acclaimed Alexander epic "I am the Great Horse".
