Values: Generous, Passionate, Inspiring, Inclusive, Fresh
Aims:
To be a distinctive national voice, championing the development of Dance as an art form, and supporting it to respond to its challenges and to its audience

To contribute our expertise generously in transforming the cultural offer in Bournemouth and working with others to develop an exciting and distinctive creative identity for the town
To develop and diversify audiences, income streams and partnerships to ensure a sustainable future for Pavilion Dance South West as a cultural flagship locally, regionally and nationally

Priorities
Bounce: To inspire and thrill children and young people through dance
Grow: To nurture and support the dance workforce to respond creatively to audiences and markets for their work
Shift: To develop and re model current ideas for commissioning, producing and distributing dance
Share: To champion and support an audience’s right to feel connected and engaged with dance
Breathe: To advocate for and embed dance in society’s health and well being provision 1 Ecology: The relationship and interaction of artists and their creative ideas and products with the wider environment (audiences, local authorities, venues, education establishments, health trusts for example).
2 Instrumental: The demonstrable value of something beyond its intrinsic worth. So, for example, with dance that would include, for example, the physical and mental health benefits for older people or obese youngsters, keeping them from becoming a drain on the health service or the ability of dance to engage young people who may otherwise lack a sense of direction or self worth, thus contributing to educational attainment and reduced anti social behaviour. It may also include contributing to the creation of a “sense of place” and its desirability as a place to live, work and visit.
