Ace from Skunk Anansie gives private talk to JJ's Arts Academy
Thirty students from JJ’s Music School in Newton Abbot were recently visited by the guitarist, Ace, from the band Skunk Anansie. Talking about his own personal career, demonstrating advanced guitar techniques and conducting an invaluable Q and A session regarding how musicians can get into the music industry, Ace’s visit was inspirational and marked the start of a series of talks from professionals. Students aged from 8years to adult thoroughly enjoyed the talk held at Newton Abbot Racecourse and they are looking forward to composer Hilgrove Kenrick’s visit in February (computer games Need for Speed:Shift and Walking Dead).
JJ’s Music School has been running for eight years and will be reopening its doors in January as JJ’s Arts Academy. JJ’s Arts Academy will continue music tuition but will also be running Arts Awards and will invite students to develop their skills in drama, movement, musical theatre, photography, sound and lighting design and live music technology. With a 96% pass rate, the professional staff are looking forward to branching out to these new and exciting opportunities for students aged 5yrs to adult.
