This September Far Cry is open to anyone who would like to try singing with us - sessions will be tailored to introducing new potential new members AND 2 performance opportunities if you wish to take part

COST: £50 FOR ALL 6 SESSIONS OR £10 PER SESSION (PRE BOOKING ESSENTIAL) CONCESSIONS AVAILABLE IF NEEDED.

Far Cry is a mixed voice acapella performance group. During COVID we were closed to new members but are now opening our doors and giving you the chance to try out without commitment on either side. To be a member of Far Cry you must be able to hold your part in a small group & be committed to working hard to create a great sound for performance BUT these sessions are open to all.

We sing a variety of songs from folk traditions around the world, songs of freedom, popular classics plus original material - especially with a local flavour! Anything from Moon River to a rousing Luddite anthem, Georgian lullabies, African work songs and Christmas folk carols.

We're led by Jenny Goodman one of the most experienced & inspiring acapella teachers in the UK. Jenny is a founder member of The Natural Voice Network and she teaches entirely by ear - so you don't need to read music to join. Practice sound files are available.

The sessions will combine new material and some existing Far Cry songs - especially focused on joining with the Massed Sing for Water Aid on Saturday 24th September 11 til 1 in the Courtyard of Lawrence Batley Theatre - there will also be short performance by Far Cry at this which you are welcome to join. We will also sing immediately after the first workshop on 4th September as part of LBT's Open Day.
