Dr John Cooper Clarke In Conversation with Johnny Green
John Cooper Clarke is a phenomenon: Poet Laureate of Punk, Bard of Salford, fashion icon, TV and radio presenter, social and cultural commentator.
His new memoir I Wanna Be Yours explores his extraordinary life, filled with remarkable personalities: Nico, Chuck Berry, Bernard Manning, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Elvis Costello, Gregory Corso, Gil Scott Heron, Mark E. Smith, Joe Strummer and more recent fans and collaborators Alex Turner, Plan B and Guy Garvey.
Expect stories of John Cooper Clarke’s rock ‘n’ roll and performing career, along with his encyclopaedic take on popular culture over the centuries, plus a few laughs along the way.
John will be interviewed by Johnny Green, former road manager of The Clash and author of a terrific book on the band A Riot of Our Own.
