Find Your Voice - Masterclass with Neil Ferris

Singing masterclass with The Huddersfield Choral Society 7pm, Tuesday.

Neil Ferris is a leading light in choral music In the UK. He is chorus director of the world-famous BBC Symphony Chorus, famous for its annual appearances at the BBC Proms. As well as his work at the BBC, Neil is Director of the Wimbledon Choral Society and is the co-founder and director of Sonoro, one of the most exciting new professional chamber choirs in the UK.

As well as conducting Neil is in great demand as an educator and teacher. Previously the head of conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Neil has taught and inspired many of the UK’s finest young choral conductors.

In this final workshop, Neil will lead participants through some of the most well-known and loved choruses from Mendelssohn’s Elijah. You will look in particular at how best to use your voice in this well-known work and how to engage with the wonderful drama of this glorious music. This masterclass will provide a fitting end to our summer ‘Find your Voice’ series.
