Going Sane? has been a two year project funded by Esmee Fairburn that has allowed Hoot to reach out into the community to work directly with a wide range organisations and community groups. 24 artists have delivered workshops across many artforms, with 11 different organisations many of which have never engaged with creative work before or directly engaged in creative discussion around aspects of mental health and well-being.

For Going Sane? we recruited a new cohort of “New Blood” artists who completed training through Hoot, then worked collaboratively in pairs with their groups over 10 sessions, to create amazing pieces of visual art, film, dance, movement, singing, music and writing. They also were commissioned to produce a piece of their own artwork, to further explore ideas around mental health in a potentially more challenging
way and push their own practise.
