Jubilee Bank Holiday Film and Food evenings
Holmfirth Film Festival will host two evenings of special Jubilee Bank Holiday film and food screenings at Choppards, Holmfirth on the evenings of Friday 3 June and Saturday 4 June.
Based on the novel by Marcel Pagnol, Jean de Florette and its sequel, Manon des Sources, are beautifully filmed French language classics telling a story of revenge, destiny and guilt. Filmed in rural Provence, screened in rural Holmfirth.
Friday 3 June PART 1 Jean de Florette
In the countryside of Provence, two local farmers plot to trick newcomer, Jean de Florette, out of his recently inherited property, with tragic consequences.
Ticket for this event £10 includes pre-film glass of wine with cheese.
Saturday 4 June PART 2 Manon des Sources
Following the events of Jean de Florette, Jean's now grown up daughter discovers the story of her neighbours' heartless actions and seeks to avenge her father's death in Manon des Sources.
Ticket for this film £10 includes pre-film glass of wine with cheese.
