Hitchin Chamber Orchestra Concert - November 4th

An evening of beauty and sparkle - string fireworks in the Town Hall
Next month sees the Hitchin Chamber Orchestra bring Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro to Hitchin Town Hall, a piece that features comfortably within most players’ Top Ten works for String Orchestra. It is an inspiring piece of music that ticks just about every box: virtuosic display; musical challenge; variety of sound and texture; extraordinary breadth of feeling and excitement, packed into under a quarter of an hour of through-composed music.
The concert will also feature music from Sweden, Italy, Russia (Tchaikovsky) and the USA alongside the home-grown achievements of Elgar and Finzi, the latter’s Serenade being an example of exquisite beauty.
Last November’s concert was a sell-out and this promises to be another popular evening in the Town Hall which is an excellent venue for such an event.
