Hepworth Band says a big thank you
HEPWORTH SAYS THANK YOU FOR GRANT AWARDS & SUPPORT
The Hepworth brass band is grateful to have secured support from South Yorkshire Community Foundation, One Community Kirklees, Huddersfield Common Good Trust, Holme Valley Parish Council and Huddersfield Town Foundation that will enable the band to complete the next stage of refurbishment of its bandroom facility.
The grant received from the South Yorkshire Community Foundation, in association with Ventient Energy, the owners of the Blackstone Edge Wind Turbines will help us to improve the energy efficiency and security of the bandroom through the provision of new windows and doors.
Grants from Holme Valley Parish Council and Huddersfield Town Foundation will enable the band to complete repairs to the roof structure of the building, whilst grants from One Community Kirklees and Huddersfield Common Trust will be used to carry out improvements to the bands’ main rehearsal space.
The band is also pleased to have acquired the ground floor premises below the existing bandroom. Once refurbishment works are completed, this will allow the band to greatly improve its rehearsal facilities by relocating the library, kitchenette, toilets and storeroom to the ground floor and to enlarge the main rehearsal space.
The band is grateful for the support of Wilkinson Woodward Norcliffe & Co Solicitors and is especially indebted to Laura Kurowski for her diligence and expertise in handling the legal aspects of the lease transfer in the acquisition of the ground floor premises.
Band Chairman John Green said “we are extremely grateful for the help and support of our funding partners and Wilkinson Woodward Norcliffe & Co Solicitors which, together with our own fundraising efforts enables the band to carry out essential repairs and improvements to the bandroom building that will provide the band with a facility that is fit for purpose and that will be a welcoming, creative space where people can come together to rehearse and make music.”
