EMBARK: Ferry Art
Embark: Ferry Art
Curated by artist Charlotte Williams, FOTONOW CIC has selected six artists to exhibit on a monthly basis on board the King Harry Ferry throughout the Summer of 2011. Helen Snell will exhibit images of laser cut and stencilled works in her series of TREE BOATS and OTHER VESSELS in the month of June.
The selected artists explore contemporary issues that are pertinent within the region; including environmental, social and economical ideas. The works relate visually and conceptually with this individually rural setting and will engage with an audience of over 500 passengers each day, who may not normally visit a traditional gallery space.
Final artworks will also appear on all Fal River Links services as postcards, advertising the main King Harry Ferry shows.
Embark: Ferry Art celebrates its fifth year thanks to continued support from Arts Council England, University College Falmouth and King Harry Ferry.
