Mixed Media and Textile Spring Sketchbook Workshop
The Artist’s Studio, located in the garden, is my sanctuary away from the house and the hustle and bustle of everyday life where I can immerse myself in making art. I invite you to join me for workshops where we will make art in sketchbooks to celebrate the re-emergence of life that spring brings.
Each participant will be given a sketchbook made of reclaimed paper for their use.
I aim for my workshops to be as sustainable as possible. To this end, I source 'reclaimed' paints and materials for participants' use where ever possible.
Each workshop is for a maximum of 4 participants (plus me).
10.30am – 12.30pm (2 hours). £30. Booking essential.
No experience necessary.
About me:
After attending Helena Romanes School in Great Dunmow, I continued studies at Braintree College intending to become a jewellery designer. Along the way that changed and I found a love of textiles. Following my degree in Constructed Textiles at Middlesex University I worked in Hong Kong as a knitwear and print designer. Upon return to England I worked in textiles in London before spending 18 years in Australia variously working in graphics, advertising, radio and managing an art space in addition to my studio practice and exhibiting work throughout Australia. I started my PhD in Creative Arts at James Cook University (Queensland) in 2012. I returned to England in 2015, completed my PhD in 2018, and continue to work as a mixed media and textile artist based in Bishop’s Stortford.
