Hosted across an eclectic mix of traditional concert spaces, a vast industrial mill, churches and bars, hcmf// is the UK’s leading platform for British and international contemporary art forms, encompassing new music, experimental and electronic music, visual art, sound art and improvisation.

Surging into its fifth decade with a programme of dawn-to-dusk concerts, installations and unexpected creative collisions, the 2018 edition features internationally renowned visual artist and composer Christian Marclay as Composer in Residence; performances from artists including the inimitable Ensemble Musikfabrik, Gothenberg-based group Mimitabu, compelling American pianist Sarah Cahill, and Dutch ‘chamber metal’ band TEMKO; and the latest new works from Rebecca Saunders, James Dillon, Jennifer Walshe, Anthony Braxton, Supriya Nagarajan, Jessie Marino, Salvatore Sciarrino,
Hilda Paredes and Malin Bång.
