Sixth Sense
Annual exhibition by VI Form students, who are aged between 16 and 19 and following A Level courses in art and photography. In this year’s show 32 students will show a selection of their current work.
Open daily, 10 am - 4 pm.
Year 12 Art students gain foundation skills in darkroom and digital photography, or painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture, exploring themes relating to portraits, structures and natural forms. The students have the opportunity to work with a contemporary sculpture artist or a professional portrait photographer and are continually making connections to the creative industry in illustration, freelance photography or art, graphic design and art galleries.
Year 13 students develop their practical skills at the same time as carrying out an essay that links to a personal investigation. Based on a chosen issue, concept or theme the photographers develop new work in black and white, colour, traditional or digital processes, while the artists work towards a final outcome in at least two types of media that show connections to aspects of contemporary or past practice of artists, designers, craftspeople or photographers.
