Sixth Sense
Tenth annual exhibition at Harbour House of Fine Art, Photography and Art Textiles by VI Form students of Kingsbridge Community College.
The exhibition gives the VI Form students the opportunity to show off coursework produced for their studies at AS and A2 Level, and up to sixty students will have work on display.
Harbour House Arts Co-ordinator Alison Veazey says, “These students were still in primary school when the first VI Form exhibition was launched at Harbour House ten years ago, and they are so lucky to have had such a creative art education over the years. Their enthusiasm, dedication and talent really shines through in this collection of work, and I hope that some of the students will pursue art, photography or art textiles in higher education and beyond – and will come back and exhibit work at Harbour House in the future!”
Fine Art students in Year 12 are currently researching predators and other worlds, with reference to cave painting, totem poles and spirit masks, and have produced responses in painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. Year 13 A-Level students devise their own projects, so there will be a wide range of imaginative works of art on display.
Year 12 Art Textiles students are also developing an innovative range of two and three dimensional pieces exploring the theme of natural forms.
Year 13 Photography students develop their own projects using film and digital cameras, investigating the possibilities of both traditional darkroom facilities and sophisticated computer software.
