Primary Colours 2017
Picasso once said, ‘Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up’, and at Harbour House in Kingsbridge there will be a lively exhibition of children’s art to remind us of those wise words.
Thirteen local primary schools have been invited to loan drawings, paintings, collage, printmaking and sculpture to this vibrant exhibition which is guaranteed to brighten up the gloomy days of winter.
In the thriving arts community of the South Hams, many maintain that Primary Colours is the highlight of the gallery year, and that they gain renewed inspiration from the work of these bright young artists.
Hundreds of local children and young adults can count Primary Colours as the first experience of seeing their own work on display in an art gallery. A familiar view is of children proudly showing off the exhibition to parents and grandparents - and Harbour House really comes to life when a whole class of children visits. We are particularly grateful to our team of loyal volunteers who come and steward
in the art gallery, enabling us to keep this lovely exhibition running from year to year.
Please note: Primary Colours is not open on Sundays
