Primary Colours 2014
The Harbour House gallery year traditionally starts with Primary Colours, and this colourful exhibition of Primary Schools' art work remains a firm favourite for local artists as well as local families.
Twelve primary schools have been invited to loan drawings, paintings, collage, printmaking and sculpture for this exhibition offers inspiration to artists of all ages and brightens up the gloomy days of winter.
Picasso recognised the freshness and vitality of children's art work when he said:
'Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up',
and amongst the community of local artists in the South Hams, many insist that Primary Colours is the highlight of the gallery year.
Harbour House is grateful to Kingsbridge Town Council for its contribution towards the cost of staging this exhibition, and to the many volunteers who help by stewarding in the gallery.
