Outline South West
During 2012 and 2013 Anita is walking the South West Coast Path which runs from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset. The 630 mile trail contours its way through 4 counties, has 115,000 feet of ascent and descent, and should take Anita about 60 days to walk.
Anita will complete the walk a week at a time, sketching en route and producing a drypoint plate each day, interspersed with breaks of two or three weeks back in the studio.
The exhibition will include around 60 drypoint prints expressing her response to the landscape she has walked through. She will also show other works which have developed from her sketches.
If all goes according to plan, if the weather and legs hold up, Anita should have just finished the walk in time for the exhibition in September.
A short film of the project will be available to watch when visiting the gallery, along with sketchbooks, photographs and the chance to chat to Anita about the experience.
