An exhibition by Drawn: Sue Bown, Helena Clews, Susanne Lowry-Smith & Linda Tudor
Opening View: Friday 30 June, 6 - 8 pm
From different backgrounds four artists converge to share their interest in drawing, with a focus on landscape, figure and text. Taking a creative approach to drawing, materials include paint, pastels, charcoal, printmaking, mixed media and oil paint.
Working with mixed media in a gestural and expressive manner, Sue Bown creates a variety of representational and abstract work: landscape, figure and text, big, bold and fun. Always having an eye for detail and design, Sue has spent much of her working life in marketing and product design for the travel industry, moving in recent years towards mentoring executives wishing to improve and achieve their working aspirations.
Susanne Lowry-Smith studied at Reigate School of Art and Design, Morley College, Westminster, The London Art School and The Royal Drawing School, and has recently spent time drawing in the Life Room at the Royal Academy. She has specialised in printmaking for over 25 years and has exhibited around Britain with the Printmakers Council.
As well as teaching art design in Scotland and England for a number of years, Linda Tudor has exhibited nationwide and in Tokyo and Copenhagen.
Helena Clews studied at Manchester Metropolitan University, the Institute of Education at the University of London, and Central St Martins. In the last eleven years she has exhibited widely.
