Incite: to move or provoke to action
Maureen Douglas-Green's third solo exhibition at Harbour House features an entirely new collection of photographs. A particular feature of this year's exhibition is the use of the macro lens, and intimate botanical and insect studies contrast with long landscape views and studies of architectural features.
There will be a Gallery Talk with the photographer on Saturday 9 October at 11 am. Everybody is welcome to this informal event, and admission is free.
"I continue to be found in the most unladylike and undignified of poses as my trusty macro lens is in action. The structures and forms, play of light, and detail of the tiniest features fascinate me and with the embellishment of heavy dew or early morning rainfall, I am in seventh heaven, usually in my favourite locations at dawn or before dusk, returning invariably with a muddy or grass stained left knee. On occasions when I return home with an oil or ash stained left knee, it can be safely assumed that instead of being at the Garden House at Buckland Monachorum, where I continue to be privileged as a Photographer in Residence, I have been fulfilling my role as an assistant Photographer in Residence for the South Devon Railway."
