Call to artists: Patterns open art exhibition
Harbour House in Kingsbridge is challenging local artists to produce new work for an Open Art Exhibition in October. The title of the show is Patterns, and artists are invited to submit up to four pieces of work.
We’re asking artists to consider the theme and produce new works of art in response. With either a literal or a metaphorical response, the creative possibilities are endless, and artwork can be in any medium. Painting and photography are always popular choices, but we’re also hoping that sculptors will think of ways to respond imaginatively to the theme.
Artists can enter up to four pieces of work. All work must be original, not reproduction. We also ask artists to submit a short written statement, or perhaps a page of illustrations or sketchbook work, to describe the works and explain how they fit with the theme of Patterns.
Entry will open on Thursday 5 September on the Harbour House website, and artists will have until 9 am on Monday 7 October to submit details of their work. Artwork is then handed in at the gallery on Monday 14 October between 10 am and midday.
The exhibition runs over the busy school half term holiday period from 19 October – 5 November 2019.
