Between the Land and the Sea
An exhibition by The House Group exploring the beauty of the Devon coastline and the challenges it faces. The centrepiece of the exhibition is a giant Kraken - a sea monster made from beach trash, stretching through the length of the art gallery.
Other works include photographs and audio-visual work of the Devon coastline by Rod Birtles, and Alison Theaker’s sculptures made of plastic beach litter, prints made using natural materials such as pebbles and seaweed, and other equally creative mixed media works.
There will also be poems by children from Thurlestone, Charleton and West Alvington primary schools created as part of an education project.
