Alison Veazey and Sally Fisher
An exhibition of painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture.
Opening View: Friday 7 July, 6 - 8 pm
Alison Veazey’s printmaking and painting is characterised by rich colour and striking composition. Landscape is a strong theme, with inspiration taken from the south west peninsula, the Pembrokeshire coast and the Lake District. Well known locally as a printmaker, her most recent works are on a larger scale, in acrylics and mixed media on canvas.
Sally Fisher’s portfolio spans clay sculpture and paintings and drawings of landscape, portraiture and the nude:
“The human form has tireless beauty, and in my drawings I respond to the natural flow of line, life and movement. I like to work with short poses, or a moving dance sequence where the model pauses for a few moments in each pose. This is a huge challenge and an exciting, energetic and gestural way of drawing. It requires intense looking and practice to capture the anatomical line of limb and spirit.”
Sally attends a portrait class with a two-hour sitting: “I paint in oils direct onto canvas with no previous drawing out. It is the most intense experience of looking and painting I have ever done and the concentration is like a Formula One drive!”
