Encounters Shop

Our 10th shop project, Encounters Andover will be opening its doors on the 14th May 2014. Open to all, the pop up shop at 91 High Street will be welcoming everyone for 5 weeks until the 15th June.

Preparations are in full swing to create a space for dialogue and exchange where an evolving collection of memories, stories, experiences, ideas and dreams about Andover past present and future will grow.

Andover will be the 10th Encounters shop set up. We have run shops all over the UK including in Liverpool, Sheffield and London.

Generating a rich snapshot of objects, text, photos the project will inform a programme of public art developments around the town and will feed into the work that Andover Town Centre Summit has been doing to improve the shape of the future town.

Encounters have employed five local artists to set up and work on the project alongside Encounters Arts. Visitors will be welcomed to the shop and encourage participation through a range of activities relating to Andover. As part of the project there will be a series of one-off events devised by local artists.
