One of a series of photo/drawings, created over the last three years, in which I have been exploring drawing with the camera, with light and gesture. Walking out into the night I have used the camera as an implement, capturing the energy, movement and celebration of local events and landmarks. This piece is one of a sub-series based on fireworks. I point the camera and take a series of shots, sometimes using gesture and physical movement, never knowing the precise outcome. In this case the result reminds me of an exuberant flower of light.
