Summer School Evening Programme: 6 nights of artists talks, performance & live music, all welcome. AT THE FINGLE BRIDGE INN DREWSTEIGNTON, EX6 6PW, NEAR EXETER, 8PM EACH EVENING. £5 on the door, no need to book.

As part of the summer school week Dartmoor Arts Project presents a programme of talks by leading contemporary artists, plus performances and live musicwhich are open to both public and summer school students.

Sunday 26 July 8pm: Desert Island Images
The summer school launches with Desert Island Images. A line up of artists share their top eight images of art works or things that have inspired and influenced them - a funny, entertaining and insightful evening.

Monday 27 July 8pm: A talk by Peter about his recent sculptures, drawings, prints & commissions. His practice has always been informed and inspired by the study natural phenomena and its subjective impact on our emotions.In recent years his work has become increasingly concerned with the underlying principles determining growth and the forms it produces. In his words "geometry is the theme on which nature plays her infinite variations, and can be seen as a kind of pattern book on which the most complex and sophisticated structures are based

Tuesday 28 July 8pm: Thomas Gosebruch Studied Painting at Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Hamburgand The Royal College of Art, London and has an MA in Printmaking from Hochschule für Bildende Kunst, Braunschweig. Diploma in Ceramics at City Lit, London. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 Thomas was shortlisted for The Jerwood Drawing Prize.and has been a visiting professor at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijingand at Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts in Xi’an, China. He currently teaches at The National Gallery,The Royal Drawing School and City Lit, all in London.

Wednesday 29 July 8pm: Storytelling evening
Summer school storytelling students strut their stuff on stage - performing live and sharing their stories after their three day storytelling course with Stephen Park & Wilf Merttens.

Thursday 30 July 8pm: Something & Son is a London based practice founded by Andrew Merritt and Paul Smyth. Their work is rooted in a inquisitiveness and experimentation and reflects our varied backgrounds and shared passion for art, engineering, social systems, and the environment. They like to create popular, provocative and witty work that tackles the social and environmental challenges of our time. A keenness to collaborate has led us to work alongside swift experts, mushroom men, scrapyard merchants, farmers, horticulturalists, scientists and sociologists

Friday 31 July 8pm: Live music, plus screenings of the films made by the summer school film students and a crazy catwalk show by 'Costume into Sculpture' students.
