Postcards Home

I started to form the concept for this project by brainstorming about ways in which I could develop a new direction in my painted work. In this project I wanted to document a specific quantity of time, using a set routine to do this. So every day I have been painting a postcard sized image, using photographs of myself. After producing the first image I decided that it would be interesting to explore the value of painting as culture by posting them to myself daily. By putting a piece of work through the postal system as an object, using this system to sign and number my work, I am exploring the concept of art as documentation of identities and emotional states.
