Miss Julie

August Strindberg’s acclaimed classic caused outrage when it was first staged. Since then Miss Julie has gone on to become one of the most well recognised and performed plays in the world.

Miss Julie causes a stir when she chooses to stay back and celebrate Midsummers Eve with the servants rather than attend a society event with her father, the count. During the evening a flirtatious exchange with her father’s valet develops, and before long attraction across the class divide descends into cruel power games and a fight for survival.
