Communications & Marketing Manager, based Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
An Arts Council England Creative People and Places Project

Salary: £25,336
Full time Post to December 2016 with potential to extend to Sept 2017

An extraordinary opportunity to work on a high profile well resourced project. Creative Scene is the Creative People and Places project for West Yorkshire- part of Arts Council England’s flagship programme, which is working nationally to radically increase arts activity and engagement in areas of the country where there is currently least engagement.

You will work within a dynamic, committed team and in a partnership environment, with the opportunity to work alongside large numbers of passionate people; and through management of a significant marketing budget, the chance to make a real difference.

Working closely with the Director, the post holder will develop, manage and deliver a dynamic and innovative communications, marketing and audience development strategy for ‘Creative Scene’, and will have the opportunity to innovate and experiment with new approaches, to ensure the maximum possible audience development for an ambitious, diverse and exciting programme of work, which will see a whole range of arts activities developed with, and for, the people of North Kirklees.

The ideal candidate will be an imaginative strategist; a tactical, hands on manager; and will be interested in how digital tools and social media can develop audiences and participation in the arts. They will have a track record of successfully developing new audiences, particularly from less engaged communities, and experience of developing exciting brands and will be an exceptional communicator at all levels.
The post-holder will be employed by the Lawrence Batley Theatre, and will be part of a team established in our bright and busy offices in Dewsbury, North Kirklees.
