Surrey Arts are seeking a Drama Development Officer.

Surrey Arts is an arts development service within Surrey County Council, comprising a team of four Development Officers in Contemporary Music, Dance, Drama and Visual Arts. You will be responsible for the management and marketing of projects such as the Surrey Youth Drama Masterclass workshops, Surrey Youth Drama Festival, www.SPEAR-online.com as well as support the development of local groups and companies, and chair various networks across the county. You will continue the development of the relationship between Surrey Arts, the county Music Hub and Artswork the Bridge Organisation for the South East, including overseeing the development of a new Umbrella network for developing the cultural offer for children and young people in Surrey. You will coordinate and develop specific projects aligned with the Surrey music hub such as the youth forum and Arts Award, and take a lead on behalf of the arts development team for liaison with the formal education sector.

With a background in theatre, you will be able to strategically lead the development of key county-wide projects. You will be an excellent communicator across a range of contexts and be able to work with a range of different partners. You will be an excellent team player as well as a self-starter able to work independently.

This post requires significant travel within Surrey, and access to a car is essential. Flexible working will be required. You must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check for this post.
