Arts and Culture Manager, The Point, Eastleigh
We are looking to recruit a vibrant and experienced individual to lead our Arts and Culture team, which has a clear focus on developing a sustainable cultural offer underpinning the economic and social development of the Borough.
The Arts and Culture Manager will work closely with an experienced team across two innovative, state-of-the-art, world class venues offering theatre, dance, circus, cinema, arts and comedy programmes as well as developing Borough wide projects. Moving towards a more sustainable business model, the team will develop and promote artistic excellence and cultural engagement underpinned by a commercial awareness which facilitates business opportunities and growth.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering excellence across the arts and culture through an exciting, innovative and balanced portfolio of events and activities, contributing to the council’s Healthy Communities and Prosperous Places strategies driving up audience/visitor numbers and spend per head through enhancing the visitor experience across all areas of operation. This will be achieved through partnership working with key stakeholders and by developing new external partners and income streams.
Applicants must be educated to Degree level in arts or heritage or hold an equivalent formal relevant management qualification. Extensive experience in leading high-performing, commercially focused and diverse arts and culture services is essential. Proven ability to set targets, manage resources, performance, budgets and develop services are key elements of the role.
