The recent decision by the European Commission to cancel the UK competition for European Capital of Culture has impacted on plans for Leeds 2023. However, Leeds 2023 remain committed to the ambitions set out in the city’s new Culture Strategy which was included in the bid for the title.
Last week, Councillors agreed a positive first step in continuing to build upon the strong and meaningful momentum generated from the bid.
You are invited to attend a public meeting on Wednesday 31st January to hear the exciting next chapter for the city. Details will be shared of how the whole city can continue to be part of what has been an incredible story so far.
