Want to be part of a live test event?
Join Opera North for their first live concert at Leeds Town Hall since lockdown.
Mendelssohn’s Octet, performed by the Orchestra of Opera North, is a fitting curtain-raiser for the first live concert with an audience in Leeds Town Hall after five months of lockdown! Although scored for a chamber ensemble but played, at its young composer's insistence, 'by all the instruments in symphonic orchestral style'.
Tenor Nicholas Watts is joined by their Head of Music David Cowan at the piano for a selection of songs from Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin. The Orchestra will close the concert with Mozart's brilliantly inventive Symphony No. 29, providing opportunities for the violas, cellos and basses to get reacquainted, and a socially distanced outing for the wind and brass sections. Tickets went on sale on Monday 24 August at 12pm - book yours below now.
