Volunteers Week - a Time to Say Thanks - 1-7 June

In celebration of National Volunteers’ Week, 1-7 June, Kirklees Council are supporting Third Sector Leaders (TSL) Kirklees to mark the role volunteers played locally in supporting their local communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

What’s happening?
TSL Kirklees are hosting an online photographic exhibition that will eventually become part of the council’s Museums & Galleries collection. The launch of the exhibition coincides with National Volunteers’ Week, and brings together images and stories of individuals who gave their time to help others during the past 12 months.

The exhibition is available online throughout Volunteers’ Week, 1- 6 June, at TSL Kirklees

What is Volunteers Week?
Volunteers’ Week takes place 1-7 June every year. It’s a chance to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our communities and say thank you.

What else is happening?

On 1 June
Kirklees joins councils across West Yorkshire to light up Town Halls. Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Batley and Cleckheaton town halls will be lit up in purple as a way of marking the start of Volunteers’ Week and acknowledging the amazing contribution local volunteers make.

8 – 10 June
TSL Kirklees is hosting a Virtual Volunteers Fair where you can hear about the latest opportunities to volunteer from a wide range of organisations across Kirklees.
