The Kirklees Innovation Voucher Scheme

The Kirklees Innovation Voucher Scheme has now been launched and applications are officially open.

The scheme aims to empower small businesses to start their innovation journey and develop big ideas for the future. It’s open to any industry sector (charities are excluded), and preferably supports businesses that are new to innovation.

Who can apply?

The Vouchers are for Kirklees businesses who want to embark on their first collaborative innovation project and accesses specialist knowledge, technology or facilities to develop a new product or process.

The application process is now open to eligible businesses:
- Start-ups which are at least a year old
- Micro and small businesses with up to 50 employees
- Any sector

To use a voucher companies must apply to and be approved by Kirklees Council and pay for the project up front.

What does an Innovation Voucher cover?

Recipients of a Kirklees Innovation voucher will receive between £1,500 and £5,000 of funding for their project. This will cover half the project’s total cost – which means that for every £1 invested by the business, the Voucher scheme also contributes £1, up to a maximum of £5,000.
