Technical Manager - Leeds City Council
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone with a proven track record of technical management. The post holder will manage and develop all the technical aspects, ensuring the highest standards are achieved for all users of tLeeds Council’s public performance venues. Their current venues are Pudsey Civic Hall, Leeds Town Hall and the Carriageworks Theatre. You will be assigned to a venue, but you may work across the portfolio of venues to provide cover and support.
You will have high-level responsibility for managing the smooth running of events make sure events runs as professionally and safely as possible, ensuring that the technical standards fully meet the demanding needs of a lively and challenging environment.
You are likely to have both background and practical qualifications in all technical operations with knowledge of theatre lighting and sound systems, Health and Safety requirements, safe wiring and rigging of stage lighting and experience of the safe operation of counterweight flying systems. It is also desirable to have a part electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds Part 1) and formal qualification in theatre lighting, sound engineering and/or stage management.
As a good communicator both interpersonally and in writing you will be a competent people manager who is able to help manage and motivate the technical team. Analytical and proven organisational ability, with ability to multi-task and prioritise your own time and that of others is essential.
The successful candidate will help create a stable fully operational team to guarantee the highest standards to ensure the all technical aspects fully meet the demanding needs of lively, diverse and multifunctioning venues.
