LEEDS 2023 will be a landmark year of culture for the city and region. Their ambitious and ground-breaking programme will transform people’s perceptions of Leeds, confirming it as an international centre of cultural activity and cementing its reputation as a cultural giant in the world.

Showcasing creativity across all forms of culture, they will partner with local, national, and international artists, creatives, and storytellers to deliver a series of world-class signature events across the year. From dance to design, art to architecture, poetry to pop, sculpture to sport, there will be something for everyone!

As LEEDS 2023 develops a programme designed to reach every school child in the city, they are inviting ideas from partners, including education providers, to feed into their next period of development. They are therefore offering ten seed commissions of £2000 to support the development of project proposals that would be part of their schools programme.

At this stage they are not expecting fully formed ideas and proposals. Instead, they want to know about your idea, how it relates to at least one of their 5 programming strands, how you will spend the time developing the idea, and how you might use LEEDS 2023 as a catalyst to do something that you might not have been able to do before.
