Research Assistant in Arts and Visual Culture
Fixed term appointment for 12 months, 18.5 hours per week
This part-time post will be located in the School of Art, Design and Architecture with a forward thinking and collaborative research team. The purpose of the post is to work on pathways to research impact in arts, visual culture and its creative ecologies of cultural leadership and place-making. The post holder will have responsibility in supporting the development of an impact case study for REF 2021, focusing on a range of projects, including ROTOR and Temporary Contemporary. Both initiatives work in partnership with Kirklees Council and the School of Art, Design and Architecture and have generated exhibition platforms for creative research practices, collaborations and networking opportunities between different partners, organisations, communities and audiences.

You will have an interest in arts and visual culture, curatorial practices and be committed to fostering creative exchanges between partners in a network generated out of and informed by innovative research projects on cultural leadership and place making. Activities will include: designing, developing and executing events for research (workshops, interviews, literature searches and exhibition activities with different audiences and stake-holders) and working collaboratively with a creative team to realise the ambitions of research pathways to social and cultural impact.
