Paid Internship Opportunity at Artworks Creative Communities

Artworks Creative Communities is looking for an intern aged up to 24 to work alongside the Project Coordinator (Marketing & Venue) at their base, the Delius Arts & Cultural Centre in Bradford. Due to the source of funding for this post applicants must currently be unemployed.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of Artworks’ venue, The Delius Arts & Cultural Centre, and to see specific projects through to their launch. The successful applicant will work to support a series of events and projects, including an exciting programme of events funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. The opportunity will offer a range of experience in arts marketing, fundraising, sponsorship, event management, project management, planning and research.

The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside the Project Coordinator to increase activities and marketing of the venue, as well as experience of working within an office environment.

Artworks is particularly interested in receiving applications from people who are passionate about audience engagement with the arts; who would enjoy the opportunity to attend events at the Centre; who would like to learn more about marketing; and are keen to develop their skills for a career in the arts.

Much of the role will involve working with the Project Coordinator to develop and promote an attractive offer to youth and education sectors in order to increase use of the centre, now and in the future. This will include researching other centres and projects, and local organisations with whom we may wish to make links.

Importantly, the role will also require the successful candidate to work in partnership with other local events managers to ensure that the Delius Arts & Cultural Centre is used as a key venue for local festival events (marketing events, smooth delivery and increasing audience numbers.)

Training will be given where necessary.

The post will involve working occasional weekends and evenings.

Terms and Conditions:
The post will be paid at the rate of £6.70 per hour for 30 hours per week (worked flexibly including some evenings and weekends), to be paid monthly in arrears.

The post is a 6 month fixed term contract, with a start date of 28th March 2016.
