Make Music Day is a free celebration of music that takes place each year in 120 countries around the world. This international event encourages all types of musicians and music groups to put on events in their communities to celebrate and promote music-making.
Last year there were 180 events across the UK reaching around 10,000 people, including performances, open rehearsals, sing-alongs and flashmobs in all sorts of spaces including libraries, shopping centres, hospitals, train stations, pubs, parks.
Make Music Day is a great opportunity to bring communities and organisations together, celebrate and highlight the cultural offering locally, attract more visitors to the area and raise the profile of the area further afield.
