Head of Playhouse Youth, Leeds Playhouse

Can you create and deliver an inclusive young people’s strategy that can open up possibilities for all young people? Can you manage an exceptional team of youth arts specialists, alongside a strong cohort of freelance artists, youth workers and volunteers? Can you contribute to the development and operation of the Creative Engagement programme? Can you represent the Playhouse on a local and national level, championing theatre work for, with and by young people? If you can, we want you to apply to be our next Head of Playhouse Youth.

The Head of Playhouse Youth is a core member of the leadership team within the Creative Engagement programme – one of the largest theatre-based engagement departments outside of London. Playhouse Youth has a strong track record of supporting the creative and social development of young people aged 5 – 25 from across the Leeds City Region. Over 300 young people attend creative activity every week at the main Playhouse building and our dedicated space for young people at Playhouse 2, First Floor.

The role might particularly suit an existing manager looking for a new step up, or an established freelance practitioner keen to be part of an large team and to take on the long-term development of an exciting programme. We will particularly welcome applicants who are representative of the young people we work with and who are from backgrounds that are often-underrepresented in theatre.
