General Manager (Maternity Cover), Site Gallery, Sheffield

Site Gallery is seeking to appoint a General Manager who will play a central role in the daily working life of the gallery. The role has been created to form part of the organisation’s maternity cover for the Executive Director. The post-holder will work closely with the Artistic Director to deliver key business plan outcomes.

With a highly varied workload, the General Manager will lead the gallery’s operations, work strategically across the gallery’s commercial activity and will contribute to planning a capital development project.

As line-manager for a small, dynamic and creative team, the role ensures that the organisation’s resources are well-planned and that key stakeholders including tenants, artists, audiences and funders have an excellent experience in their interactions with the gallery both physically and virtually.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in organizational management within an arts or creative industry company. With a broad range of business skills, they will be an excellent communicator, highly organized and able to lead and motivate a team. Experience of capital development projects would be desirable.
