Project Manager for the Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade
Expressions of interest are invited for the role of Project Manager for the Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade, which this year will be on Sunday 28th June.
In its 13th year, The Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade is the flagship event in the town. Based mainly in their workshop in Hebden Bridge, their team of artists work with thousands of participants from far and wide over several weeks, to create a story using costumes, puppets, music, performance, and dance. This all culminates in a vibrant street parade with the community at its heart. It’s amazing and they’re all very, very proud of it!
The Project Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of the event and all related activities. They work very closely as a team with the Artistic Director (AD) and the Production Manager (PM), and the role includes (but is not limited to)
Contracting Artists and managing payments and income, including donations.
Managing the overall budget
Overseeing Volunteer and Hospitality Managers (with AD)
Logistical contact for bands, external artists and vendors
Scheduling event (with AD/ PM)
Scheduling and leading planning meetings
Monitoring and Evaluation lead
Managing public workshops – overseeing door (with Volunteer manager), including donations
Overseeing Stage Manager, vendors and external artists (with AD/PM)
Local resident and business liaison.
Implementing policies and procedures (with AD)
It’s a flexible role, that will involve evenings and weekends.
It will be about 25 day’s work, heavily weighted towards the end of June but likely to start around mid-April. We will offer a fixed fee at a competitive and fair rate to the successful candidate. Appointment is subject to a successful finding bid.
