Engagement Coordinator for Yorkshire Sculpture Triangle (YST) to lead engagement programme connected to new sculpture by Rebecca Warren in Leeds.

Yorkshire Sculpture Triangle are supporting the outreach and engagement programme for a new sculpture by Rebecca Warren, co-commissioned by 14-18 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary and Henry Moore Institute in Leeds, located outside the Institute on the city’s busiest thoroughfare. During September – November 2016 YST will work with a dedicated Engagement Coordinator to develop the community engagement programme related to this sculpture commission.

The YST Engagement Coordinator will deliver this activity in partnership with YST venues: Henry Moore Institute, Leeds Art Gallery, The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park. This new YST programme will involve working with identified groups in Leeds and Wakefield with participation with communities at the heart of this activity. The ambition is to work with six community groups in Leeds and two in Wakefield. The coordinator will also programme two public events related to the sculpture commission for audiences in Leeds and Wakefield.

Total budget for this project: £7,000
YST Engagement Coordinator fee: £3,000
(2.5 days a week over 3 months from 13 September to 2 December 2016)

Responsibilities:

• To develop a high quality learning programme for targeted work with identified communities from September to November connected with the sculpture commission
• Contact with YST venues and 14-18 NOW with regards to learning programme for schools related to the sculpture and Henry Moore Institute exhibition
• If appropriate, work in partnership with specific agencies to deliver this activity
• Budget management: £4,000 budget to enable this activity
• Report to YST Project Manager on weekly basis, ongoing evaluation and final report

This position requires home working with a schedule of meetings in Leeds and Wakefield. YST Engagement Coordinator reports to Jane Bhoyroo, YST Project Manager. This project has been supported by funding from Leeds City Council and Wakefield Council.
